Olive oil from a mill in Extremadura

Around the Mediterranean, olive oil was kept on washstands long before it was put into jars. We press extra virgin olive oil in Plasencia, Extremadura, on the same floor where our family has worked since 1932. When a mill makes skincare, the work begins with the fruit rather than a chemical formulation.

People in our valley have rubbed olive oil into their hands and faces for generations. It was never a complicated habit. A small dish sat near the basin, filled from the kitchen jug, used after washing or at the end of a long day outdoors. The texture is heavy when poured neat, but it spreads wide, leaves a thin coat over dry skin, and carries the plain, green odor of crushed fruit.

Most modern cosmetic bases start in distant chemical facilities, where oils are split, refined, and stripped of their natural color and scent. At our mill, the oil in the Olivita jars comes directly from the press. We know which harvest it came from, how clean the fruit was, and how cold the extraction ran. That direct route keeps the raw oil intact, with its natural green-gold shade and its faint herbal smell.

Working as a mill rather than an ordinary cosmetics company changes our perspective on ingredients. We do not design elaborate laboratory compounds or chase novel synthetic textures. Our formulations stay close to the press, blending extra virgin olive oil with simple botanical elements like shea butter, beeswax, avocado, and olive leaf extract. The result is a heavier, quieter product that behaves like the pressed oil it comes from.

A short supply line between the press and the bottle does not create miracles. It simply ensures freshness and clarity about what goes into each batch. The oil has not spent months sitting in shipping tanks or passing through multiple brokers. It is pressed in Plasencia, blended into our formulas, and poured into glass jars, dropper bottles, and tins without excess handling.

Our certified organic range remains intentionally small. We make our face cream in a glass jar, a micellar water in a tinted bottle, a multi-use oil, a hand cream in a tube, and a lip balm in a tin. Everything we bottle is built around the olive oil we press every autumn, keeping the old Mediterranean habit alive in a few practical formats.
