From the press in Plasencia
We have been pressing olives at our mill in Plasencia, Extremadura, since 1932. Olivita is our certified organic skincare line, built on the extra virgin olive oil and leaf extracts that come through the same yard every autumn. This is why a working mill makes skincare, and how the oil moves from the press to the jar.
Extra virgin olive oil has been the center of our work for over ninety years. In Extremadura, the autumn harvest brings in fruit that we wash, grind, and press without heat or solvents. The primary run fills bottles for the kitchen table, but an olive crop yields more than culinary oil. The leaves gathered during sorting and the oil pressed from organic parcels carry the same basic fats and natural compounds whether they go into food or onto skin.
Skincare at a mill is not an abstract exercise. When we developed the Olivita range, the point was to use what the trees provide directly. Olive leaf extract, rich in natural plant compounds, combines with our pressed oil alongside ingredients like shea butter, avocado, and sunflower oil. The base remains the oil we understand by touch, odor, and color from decades of mill work.
Moving an agricultural oil into a cosmetic formula requires precise filtering and steady temperature control. In our certified organic formulas, including our Nourishing Moisturising Cream and Natural Moisturising Lip Balm with their Cosmos Organic seals, the extra virgin olive oil is handled to preserve its natural fatty acids. It stays unhurried, clean, and plain, with no synthetic fragrance added to mask the natural scent of the press.
Our line stays deliberately small because we only formulate what makes sense around the harvest. We produce six listings: the face cream in a 60 ml glass jar, a 200 ml micellar water with olive leaf and spirulina, a 30 ml multi-use repair oil, a hand cream in a tube with ECO CERT certification, and a 15 g lip tin sold singly or in threes. Every piece starts with the crop that arrives at our gates in Plasencia.
Having the press and the workshop in the same tradition means we know the source before the cap goes on the bottle. The oil in our cosmetic jars comes from the same pressing season as the oil on our tables. It is simply olive oil doing the work of holding moisture, ground and bottled where the trees grow.
