We press olives in Plasencia, Extremadura, and we put the resulting oil into our skincare line, Olivita. Several of our items carry third-party seals on their labels. These marks show that an outside body checked our formulas, our supply chains, and our mill processes against set standards.
Cosmos Organic appears on our Nourishing Moisturising Cream in its 60 ml glass jar and on our Natural Moisturising Lip Balm in its 15 g tin. Our antiox hand cream in the tube carries ECO CERT. These seals mean that an auditor reviewed our ingredient sourcing, verified where the plants grew, and checked how we handle raw materials at the mill in Spain. They confirm that the farming meets specific rules.
Natural as a casual word on a box has no standard definition in cosmetics, but certified organic requires formal paperwork and periodic inspections. When you see the Cosmos Organic seal or the ECO CERT mark, an independent organization has traced the origin of the olive oil, the shea butter, the beeswax, or the avocado oil back to the soil where it started. It is an audit of agricultural methods and factory handling.
The percentage printed on a label gives an exact accounting of what came from certified land. On the listing for our Natural Moisturising Lip Balm, we state that 99.3 percent of ingredients come from organic farming. The rest of the formula consists of necessary components, such as mineral or plant-derived items permitted under the standard, that cannot be classified as farm-grown in that manner.
Auditing accounts for the path from the field to the bottle, but it cannot predict how an oil will feel on your hands or face. A certification does not measure how quickly a cream absorbs, how the scent of olive leaf extract or spirulina sits with you, or whether a rich blend of cocoa butter and coconut oil matches your preferences. It is an inventory of origin, not a test of personal taste.
Every formula in our small range remains built around extra virgin olive oil pressed here in Plasencia since 1932. We submit our work to these certifiers so that our sourcing is clear and verified on paper. You can read the listings on our site, follow the links to our retail partner to make your choice, and rely on the seals for what they truly are: proof of origin.
This is everything we make at the mill in Plasencia, from the jar on your shelf to the tin in your pocket. We press the olive oil and formulate each piece here, while our retail partner handles the purchase.
